SEMINARS:
Come
to a seminar and see the dressform or pantsform made firsthand. One My
Twin dressform or pantsform is actually made during the 2-1/2-hour
lecture/demonstration. Supplies and facilities necessary are: hot water
source, restroom nearby, one willing "Wrappee" (Wrappee gets
the cast to finish themselves or a discount on custom finish). Two seminars
can be scheduled in one day at the same place.
COST:
$350.00 ($600.00 for 2 seminars in one day, one place) plus travel and
motel if more than 100 miles from Ventura, CA.

WORKSHOPS:
Total time for
each participant is approximately 18-20 hours, to be spread over four
or more days.
Day
One: includes a 1-hour lecture
or video viewing (optional), making casts ("wrapping") of five
or six people. (Another five or six people can be "wrapped"
on a second day.) Each person will need to be available for at least 2
hours for their "wrapping" on the first day. Later that day
(depending on how fast the casts dry) or the next day, each participant
puts his/her cast back together (it was cut apart to remove it from the
body). Approximately 4 hours are needed to put the form back together
and prepare it for the pouring of the foam. Casts must be completely dry
before pouring. Approximately 4 hours for six casts. Some help is appreciated
during this time, but not all participants need to stay all of the time.
After pouring, forms should then "set" for 24 hours before any
further handling.
Day
Two: Participants tear away the
plaster cast (mold), cut a plywood base for the form, smooth the form,
remove all traces of the cast by filing it. Any "holes" will
be filled at this time (total time for the day = 6 to 7 hours).
Day Three: The My Twin dressform or pantsform will then
be covered with fabric and ribbons (3 to 4 hours). Any or all of the finishing
(after pouring of the foam) can be done at home at the participant's leisure.
Supplies
and facilities necessary are: hot water source, restroom nearby,
room with hard, washable floor covering for "wrapping," overhead
fan or (preferably) laboratory-type exhaust fan. No fans are necessary
if foam can be poured outside or in an open garage. NOTE: all forms can
be poured in one day, regardless of number.
A minimum of five
people are necessary for the workshop. When a workshop is held far from
home (more than 500 miles), a minimum of ten people are necessary (to
be wrapped on two consecutive days).
