Since the polyurethane
My Twin dressforms and pantsforms
are made from scratch, even your posture can be duplicated exactly. The
foam form set on a wooden base reflects your natural standing position.
Because your figure and posture are truly duplicated in the form, even
the hems of garments can be turned up on your form and will then hang
equally well on you.
|

My Twin forms are made by using a plaster cast of your body as
a mold (the cast is formed right on your body using plaster bandages - the
kind used to set broken arms). |

After the cast is cut apart and removed from your body, it is put back together
again. |

Liquid polyurethane foam is then poured into the cast, expanding to fill
it and becoming rigid in the process. |

After the foam form is finished, it is covered with ribbed knit fabric.
Ribbon or embroidered lines are placed strategically on the form where pattern
measurements are taken for easy comparison. And, YES, you can stick pins
into the form easily so that fitting patterns and garments and designing
by draping are simple and enjoyable. |

The forms are fairly lightweight. Heavy, stable bases are available on which
to set or hang the forms. An adjustable height, oak stand is used for the
dressform, giving the form stability and making it an attractive addition
to your sewing room. |
